and lavender, as the point color.

Ojuk Stem
The Ojuk stem closure of the Ojuk Closure Shopper Bag has gone through a process of sorting by thickness and trimming
and was designed to be a functional closure and decorative piece of this new bag.
The stem of Ojuk comes in a wide range of thickness, pattern, and color.
From the unique spotted pattern of Ojuk, called the Allong pattern, to a variety of light to dark colors,
this small closure is entertaining in its wide spectrum of colors and patterns.
The Ojuk stem is the most often used material in
Jukjang crafts (traditional bamboo crafts created by attaching Ojuk to objects),
and its various thickness and color allows for a deeper expression by the craftsman.

Notably, the Ojuk closure of this shopper bag was created by
Artisan Choe Seonhui, the successor of the 15th Intangible Cultural Heritage of Seoul.
She prepared the material by hand, exposing it to heat to remove the grime on the surface
and to allow the oils within the Ojuk to rise to the surface,
in an effort to show the natural shine and color of the Ojuk.
