a small accessory pouch crafted
from supple lambskin leather.
Sections of the Ojuk (black bamboo) stem
—specifically its nodes—
are cut and shaped into bead-like ornaments,
giving the pouch a distinctive accent.
It serves both as a decorative piece
and for storing small personal items.
Gongyeedam [Ojuk Collection] collaborates with
Master Artisan Choe Seon-Hui, a certified Ojukjang craftsperson
recognized as an Intangible Cultural Heritage bearer by the City of Seoul.
Master Choe apprenticed
under the late Master Yoon Byung-hoon,
a renowned Ojukjang artisan
and Seoul Intangible Cultural Heritage holder,
beginning in 1986. For over 30 years,
she has carried on the tradition of jukjang (bamboo craft) techniques,
preserving and refining the artistry of ojuk (black bamboo).
In 2008, she received the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Award
at the 33rd Korean Traditional Craft Competition
for her exceptional jukjang work.
In 2009, she was officially designated as Korea’s Ojuk Craft Master (2009-2).
Today, she continues to balance heritage and modern interpretation in her craft.
The Ojuk Pouch is
meticulously handcrafted in the atelier
