Ⅰ. Traditional Metal Craft Technique: ‘Eunipsa’
_
Eunipsa(Silver Inlay) is a traditional metal craft technique
that has been passed down since the Three Kingdoms period.
During the Three Kingdoms and Goryeo periods,
a technique called 'Ggiumipsa' was prevalent,
which involved carving grooves on a metal plate and inserting metal wires into them.

The technique known today as 'eunipsa' refers to the development of 'Jjoeumipsa'
during the mid-Joseon dynasty.
In this method, the metal plate is first carved with grooves in four directions:
horizontal, vertical, and diagonal lines, creating a grid-like pattern.
Then, delicate metal wires made of gold, silver, or copper, which have a malleable nature,
are inserted into these grooves to create a pictorial expression,
decorating the surface of the object.
Traditionally, this technique is referred to as 'eunsilbakyi,' denoting the process of inlaying silver.
Silver inlay decoration can be commonly observed on artifacts
such as incense burners, censers, tobacco cases, and door locks.

According to historical records,
during the Joseon dynasty, there existed a governmental agency called the "Gyeonggongjang,"
which was responsible for overseeing and perpetuating craftsmanship skills,
as well as producing necessary artworks for the state.
Among the craftsmen within this agency,
there were skilled craftsmen known as "Ipsa-jang,"
who specialized in the art of inlay.
They were tasked with creating inlaid objects that were required within the palace.
Ⅱ. Artisan
The Gongyeedam Eunipsa Collection is created
in collaboration with Master Artisan Seung Kyung-ran,
the recognized Holder of Ipsajang (Metal Inlay Craftsmanship),
a National Intangible Cultural Heritage of Korea.
Seung Kyung-ran
With decades of dedication to the art of Ipsa,
she has been widely recognized for her craftsmanship,
receiving the Grand Prize at the 40th Gyeonggi-do Craft Competition
and the Prime Minister's Award at the Korea Traditional Craftsmanship Competition.
In April 2026, she was officially recognized as the Holder of Ipsajang
for her contribution to preserving and advancing this distinguished tradition.
She currently operates Duduri Studio,
where tradition and contemporary artistry continue to meet.

Ⅲ. Eunipsa(Silver Inlay) Square Decorative Passport Case
This passport case features a logo with traditional lattice patterns
creatively incorporated as decorative motifs,
representing a blend of Korean essence and
modern aesthetics, skillfully expressed
by Master Seung Kyung-ran.
_Purpose: This case is designed for passports and notebooks,
allowing you to insert and use your passport
and small notebooks.
It also provides convenient storage
for cards, cash, and airplane tickets.
_Characteristics : The case comes in black with the Gongyeedam logo in silver inlay.
The dot within the support of the ball is playfully represented with pure gold,
and the silver lines are boldly emphasized, enhancing a chic and modern mood.
The silver inlay decoration undergoes three rounds of lacquering,
resulting in a color match of black case with green or black inlay.
