Material and Design
This clutch is made of 100% jute fabric to maximize the harmony
between the Ojuk and the material and colors.
The weaved Ojuk branches as a decoration on the clutch
give the piece an eco-friendly feel as well as a luxurious vibe.
Material: Ojuk branches (decoration), jute (outer shell), satin (inner lining)
Composition: 2 inner pocket
Size : 27 x 16cm, / Ojuk Decoration : 9 x 2cm (±1~3mm)
Ojuk Branches
The branches of Ojuk are similar to the stem
with their wide range of colors and patterns,
but they are not often used as craft material.
However, they have the same properties as the other parts of Ojuk.
While thinking of ways to utilize the branches,
we came to create a decoration out of the thicker parts
by cutting holes in them and weaving them like a blind.
The Ojuk branches are thinner than the stems and are formed like bouquets.
Artisan Choe Seonhui, the successor of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Seoul,
who has been working with Gongyeedam to create the Ojuk Collection,
exposed the Ojuk to heat to bring out its color and trimmed the branches
in order to express the beauty of Ojuk.

When weaving three branches together to create the decoration,
the front, back, and sides of the Ojuk branches have different colors and patterns.
This required much thought to create a harmonious balance of colors,
patterns, and location of the joints to bring out the highest level of its beauty.
